Ok ive seen this some where else but this is how it works someone posts a riddle and then everyone trys to solve it and who ever solves it first gets to post the next riddle

EDIT:: oh ya there is a one day time limit if no one gets it in one day then the person who posted the riddle tells the answer and then posts a new riddle

you can only give one answer at a time until told it is correct or incorrect

stole this from somewhere:

There are 5 thiefs - A, B, C, D, E.
They are going to distribute the 100 stolen gems.
A first decides how to divide the gems.
If there are half or more people agree with A's decision, then it's final.
Otherwise, A won't get a single gem and B would distribute the gems instead.
Same rule, same game from A thru E.
(Assume all five of them are very smart.)

Question:
How does A distribute the gems so he will get the most out of 100?
(hint: definitely more than 34 )

well this is my gess

A 40 gems.
B 5 gems.
C 25 gems.
D 5 gems.
E 25 gems.

A will vote for it because its his deal B will vote againts it because hes getting screwed C will vote for it becasue he gest more gems than if they divided it evenully D will vote againts it becasue he is also getting screwed and E will Vote for it for the same reason as C

same resoning but. also i added this logic.

B would be unlikly to get a game out of this deal, and the same with C.

so. if you split 100 between 4 you get 25 and if you split 33 between 3 you get 33.3recuring.

by this methode they both get more than a posable even split.

this leaves 40 left. so a takes this.


in this system E and D would both likely have had the hole winnings, so both get nothing.

this concloudes my guess.

OK if you want a really logical answer, here's one.

A 98
B 0
C 1
D 1
E 0

C and D know that if B gets to choose, he'll probably give something to E and then take the pot because no matter what, E gets at best one gem.

B: screwed
C: 21 (1 above normal)
D: 21 (1 above normal)
E: screwed
Thats the max possible he could get that others would go for

B would know he could get more, so he would vote against it. C would vote for it, because if B gets to choose, C will be screwed. D & E will vote against it in the hopes that they might be able to get a little bit. Thus, A loses.
