Is there any idea of a time line as to when the two new/re-introduced races will be coded and available to sim? It'd be good if there was a decent (maybe 2/3 days?) period for that before next sign up begins. Thanks

Agreed.
Zip intended to code changes sunday night, but since by then he didn't really know what to code (only the 2 'new' races) I *think* he didnt do anything. I guess that he has been busy for the rest of the time until today.

I'm going to code after dinner. I coded some other minor changes because it was only two races posted earlier. My guess is that changes will be online in some hours.

Not a big one here, and I generally stay out of the forums, but it seems the XP loss on attacks seems a little high. I truly understand this might be a back burner item, but I think XP kingdoms at the top take a bit too much off each other, which can certainly result in "kingmaking", if it can even be called that in XP play.
There's my 2 bits, and thanks for your work in the game.

I agree with yukonguy the losses are still quite large at the top.

I don't see the problem.
What is so bad about '(too) big' losses? (Too) big compared to what?

I have to agree with the losses once you are above 3-4k of xp. When you lose more or equal xp on one hit than you gain from an attack id say thats a little to much loss. Currently id say you are better off being behind someone in the xp ranks the last two week as long as you can hit them. When going back and forth with someone its more of a benefit to the person who has lower xp than the person above in xp points.

the reason is Xp is a fast paced game of tag with elements of strategy and tactics for the people who are impatient. It is a high risk high reward battle royal that can and will swing suddenly in favor of one or the other.
In some regards the current loss system very much limits a runaway but if you can runaway to the point where you are a large land size xp player you could win hitting once a day by bottomfeeding while holding onto the hero's sword and questing. Since land players hitting you doesn't really drop your experience. It is safe to be a runaway xp player. Very safe. If you can get a massive lead you have pretty much won a round. unless you are dumb enough to make a overpop worthy mistake. which if you are a runaway I hope you really do make those kinda mistakes.
I don't mind the current system so much, in that i wish there wasn't a loss system at all bring back the ruler hero pop bonus if we have to keep the bloody thing kinda way, but i think it should divide up the losses so that it factors in both land size and xp size dividing the loss between the two so that the most losses would be from getting hit by someone your exact size and xp amount. Obviously this would make for more losses but at the same time it limits runaways even more. so maybe a mild tweak to the formula would better if we couldn't get rid of the thing.
Does that make sense?

I have seen my xp wins wiped out by three xpers with atleast 600 xp higher than mine. It made me work twice as hard as them to get up in levels, so I believe some revamping of the xp game needs to be done in the future.

The round will be about 5 weeks long.
My guess is that sign up will start at the beginning of next week. I think quite many in US have spring break this week which means that many are away on trips. So I guess it's better to wait until they are home. Maybe someone from US can correct me about the spring break if I'm wrong.
