Nope, you are now over the stockpile limit.

Yeah, the stockpile corruption can be pretty harsh. Especially if you get it for both gold and a secondary resource.

A 53 percentage units jump over one tick does sound like a lot though, i dont think i have ever heard of that big a jump.

Try to spend resources on something (and not on building since that will be very expensive with corruption) and hopefully you can work it out.

At one point this round I had a similar surprise.

It would seem that the raw gain of secondary resources all have something like a 80 hours stockpiling limit from which corruption start to grow. Gold is roughly around 36 hours.

It is not enough to get below where you were before. Corruption also reduces your income, thus lowering your max stock further. I dont know exactly how it works, but something like this..

Example:
You have a raw gold income of 100/hr and a stock of 3.6 mill. That is exactly what you can have, and you should have no corruption. Magically you all of a sudden get another 1 mill. That should give you 10% corruption since it is 10hrs worth of raw income. But after you get that 10% corruption the biggest stock you can have without corruption is no longer 3.6 mill, it is 36*(100*.9) = 3240. So all of a sudden you have not 10hrs too much, but (4.6-3240)/90 = 15.1hrs. Meaning that even if you spent the exact amount you had as income you now get 15% corruption. Which reduces the biggest stock you can have further. Which brings your corruption up further, etc etc. If you dont spend your income the process ofc goes even quicker.

Reaching 90% doesnt take too long, and at that point as quaffle suggests you'll prolly need to spend everything you have to get rid of it more or less..

Why would corruption affect raw income ? I always took it as something of a negative mod. 10% is like negative 10% income but raw income hence the max stockpile capacity should remain the same. is that wrong ?

I don't know why it affects the raw production, but it does. It's not a mod, mods get applied to the raw economy AFTER corruption has been subtracted from it.

It's based on raw production. So if you make 100k raw gold per hour and 120k after mods, your base corruption will start once your stock hits 3.6 million. Or, after 30 hours.

My guess is that his raw income decreases when he "deleted" the diamond mines, so much that the stored gold (or other resources depending on race) created corruption.

well...

I was converting from DMs and Oremines to taverns to go attacker for the rest of the round. but as it turns out stockpiling rule pretty much makes converting impossible for animators.

the problem is that with the low gold income you can both convert, train molds and train collectors... and even if you ignore collectors while converting, you get in trouble because your secondary production is insanely high.

So i was using all my gold to slowly convert ~10 ore mines/hr to taverns, while making 130k ore and 12k diamonds/hr saving up to build troops after conversion.

...and all was going according to plan until corruption hit.

I ended up having to imp-invest 600k diamonds (no shit) and 600k ore that had piled up while i converted, to get rid of the corruption. Thats a lot of crystal soldiers and steel guardians...

(now you probably know who i am, but it doesnt matter im being bottomfed by the powerpacks since i fell behind... anyway...)

Oh you failed at that.

Animator tips:
  • Stockpiling resources for mass train is not as useful because this only saves gold income.
  • Sac Defensive spec for lumber boost for normal construction.
  • Sac Collectors and defensive specs for tavern pushes.
  • Taverns are best built all at once (to keep the surprise factor)
