a wereman is a creature that transforms into a man instead of a man that transforms into another creature....Lots of comics have run with the concept One piece is one such comic. Yes i am a comic geek

No such thing as a wereman in One piece. You could call Chopper a weredeer if that is what you are referring to.

A Wargwolf would be a nice addition to a werewolf team.

Warg is a sort of Rogue, but when it is a warg wolf we are talking about a wolf that kills just to kill. This comes from Wolfs that ripped to pieces their prey, but killed a lot more than they would eat afterwards.

Some books claim that were or wer was a word used for a husband as a matching word for the female counterpart wife. So in theory a female wolf should be a wifewolf.

He is a deer that transforms into a man... Not a man that transforms into a deer. He was born a reindeer and ate the devil fruit that allowed him to take a human form. Thus he would be a Wereman. Though if you are arguing that he is a weredeer technically he would be a deerwere since he is a deer man not a man deer, but that is a bit nit-picky.

I understand that it was originally a joining of words for man and wolf but the term has evolved in usage especially in modern fiction. Whether you agree with that or not is fine. This is just my reasoning behind it.

Term was also used in the show Dinosaurs, btw.

Were is a prefix. It is not saying man becomes whatever you write after were. Werewolf means just as much a wolfman as a manwolf.

And werewolf have only evolved in fiction into werebeasts. Such as Werecats, wereboars, wererats and so on, never wereman.

Anyone using the word wereman have no idea what they are saying. I am sure you can find fiction that uses the terminology wrong.
You can draw your own conclusions if you want to, but when others misuse a word, it still do not mean it is right.

Wereman = Man man.

It is like saying an ATM machine (the M in ATM stands for machine). It is wrong but still it shows up from time to time.

Fixed. Now it makes sense to me.... But after doing a little reading. Man used to mean human, and wer meant male. So a wereman might mean male human.

But since this is the primary defensive unit, I think we should call it a Wyfwolf, or maybe Wyfewolf. (edit: Lol, google shows 2k results for wyfwolf, and only 1 for wyfewolf. edit2: or maybe wifwolf)

"the prefix wer [= a male human being]"

Wer means a male human... Not just male... you cannot say weredog and then it means a male dog(or werdog). A weredog would mean a human dog[male].
