 Post subject: The spell Energy Charge

Energy Charge SELF
Increases your mages per acre number with 30%

is there anyone using it?
At the moment it costs acres x 5 for one hour.
Twice as much as blizzard or anarchy (x2.5).
Half as much as power farsight (x10).


I am thinking that power farsight was a mistake or that it is too cheap.

I recommend to change PFS to x15 and change Energy Charge to 50% for half the cost.

if U 1/2 the cost... Still only used for boppers. Can't see using it for defense even at reduced cost.

PFS should be *15 land. Way too powerful spell.


What about a spy charge? Also have it so U can only cast when at 100% full power? Whatcha think?

I think this spell is only used by mage whores, and I suspect halving the cost will simply buff mage whores, because it would still be too expensive for normal land players to use.

Greybeard used to put it on for targetsearching sometimes, but other than that it is rarely used - and especially now that PFS is around ofc.

How about increasing both MPA and SPA with spell?

Or a spy operation that lowers the MPA of a target with 50%, cost like 50% SS and be named like "Forgetfulness potion" or "sleeping potion".

And Power FS is just excelent spell, I would not touch it and leave it as it is. Maybe we can even get rid of normal FS...

that sounds cool. mpa m spa increase on one spell. That might be overpowered a bit. Now the forgetfulness potion sounds very cool. 50% sounds a bit extreme though. n the spy op shouldnt stack.

All of those boosts just help boppers. I don't think you should boost boppers as they are powerful enough.

I played a coven one round named 24 hour anarchy and I was able to keep 24 hours a day anarchy on every kingdom in the same realm of people who invaded me. I also had enough magic dust to use a lot of flame bursts on people with large amounts of resources in the same realm.

As it is now an entire pack of boppers could easily ruin another packs round and it would not require any strategy. Login once a day cast 24 hour anarchy and 24 hour blizzard on people if they have low food. Then you war the person with low food and keep using abrasion on them every time they try to cast fertility so there food production is even lower.

If they have to buy food with gold or starve they are gonna suffer a lot.

When you add up the other stuff boppers can do with war, it really is the most powerful strategy you can use to hurt another kingdom.

Agreed. Mage whoring is absolutely out of control now; and they certainly don't need to get any stronger.

Im not sure Energy Charge's price needs to be increased. I use it when I am getting prepared to Abrasion a kingdom.

Power Farsight does seem cheap, in my opinion. Its like 5.5x a normal farsight, yes? I wouldnt mind seeing it go to 8-10x the cost of a normal farsight. I feel like this should act as a desperation spell, not something that is easily afforded.

Quaffle and silencio get a +1 :)

I think the major reason is that people aren't used to use energy charge (they don't think about using it). Maybe its because of the high price+'only' 30% more mpa, but making the spell more appealing with a price decrease is impossible at the moment cuz boppers shouldn't get boosted.

Bopping is only effective if you're running a dedicated, exploring bopper throughout the round. Casual bopping and conversion strats, in most cases, are only good for a little while, then you will fall out of range due to not being built up to bop from the get go (only a few races make an exception to this).

As AF put it well in the past, it's not the bopping that is effective, it's the fear of being bopped that burns the most gold.

Energy charge isn't even needed for a dedicated bopper, it's only used by casual abrasions from land players and conversion boppers when they still haven't got their full mages up, thus I see no reason why the spell couldn't be made cheaper. Not saying it should though, I feel it's well worth the price for the casual abrasion.
