Does anyone know what races we will be chooseing from next round? Are they going to be easy like vamps and more gold based races, for us noobs or is it going to be a mix of single resouce and multi resource races?

That would depend on what your captain plans to do.

You should talk to him directly as I am sure he do not want to share with everyone what he will do. :)

I think that we will have same races for the next round as we have now. Maybe there will be max one or two replacements.

I vote for no replacement, since the alignements both look good now. Some races are under-played cuz of the round length/difficutly level.

I am not too fond of introducing new races in a draft round too.

Do we really need Flameweavers?

No one has really played them for the last few rounds...

I think that's because of the round length. They were playable for this round, but after the last round Orc's domination, the always strong Leshkin and the new Troll (a race everyone wants to play and call himself Basher ), everyone wanted to play these races and FW got passed.

Past few rounds were also 4, 4.5 and 5 weeks and FW wasnt boosted then. No surprise no one played them in such short to midlong round. Same reason no one played Shin competitively. Good was also the supreme faith until last rd.

FW have been boosted a bit recently, so maybe they will be played somewhere in the future :D I want them to stay in, cuz they are an easy race for Evil for the newbies in the draftpack. Good spec OP, undying offense with turtle and a alright defensive elite. Just need some Ore Mines and DMs, but you always need DMs ;)

That's the thing, so far pretty much every round length has been played, but no one really played FW at all.

Might be easy for newbs, but they [including myself] need to learn the complexities of the other races!

But, there is that issue of an introduced race being overpowered.

Well I don't know about everyone else...but Basher ftw!

Haha, fair enough.

For the sake of the Draft round though, I hope there is at least one race change. Then you could discuss how to evaluate race changes. How the new race could effect the game play. Although, this can be done by learning to evaluate a race in general.

Yeah, i think fw is viable in 5.5-6w rounds, but not in anything shorter really.

It doesnt matter much for me if we get race changes or not, i can understand both quaffles and kalles (zips) argument.

I think it's telling that no elite or even middle-tier player went with the Flameweavers in a max-length round. The fact of the matter is that Evil is full of good long-round choices with Troll, Leshkin, and--in the view of some--Orc.

So I don't really see a place for the Flameweavers in the current evil race line-up.

I think Quaffle is right that 1 change might be nice. It lets the people who normally aren't on forums who are participating in the draft to see how things are run and why different changes are made. And yes FW would be a good switch for something else since it really has run its course for a while now and produced nothing

Im fine with taking out FWer, but if you do it and put in frostzorb, I dont see how anyone in their right mind goes good....so, either dont put in fz, or make changes to keep good playable if you add FZ
