Pixie
Good

Small, magical creatures of folklore. The general Pixie has pointed ears and fast fluttering wings in which you can see through. Thought simliar in looks, Pixie tend to be very independent or travel in large packs. Niether cursed nor blessed by the Gods, Pixie bless the land and appear non-threatening to the races of Elveron. Very strong at heart and with a driven personality, Pixie can accomplish any task they put their mind to.

  • -10% population
  • -20% gold production

Im going for more of a mid-late round race. A lot of races have nice "get huge OOP and convert" strategies. This one I was hoping is meant to not get strong until mid round (like Humans). But have an option to get even more efficient for late rounds, instead of giving them some type of speed boost (like Battle Mages).

So the point of the Victorian is to make the offense way more efficient, so you can reduce your military by 1/3 (since you will probably need to train another Guardian when you upgrade).

The race is very predictable as far as its military goes, but you can tell how much they will be committed to the long run by when they upgrade. Im thinking of adding two special buildings to give them some flexibility there, suggestions?

I like the elites and the conversion idea. We would need a one race that does that.

how about this :

u make them abit more to the magic dust side. Less gold more md as they are pixies (magic creatures)

make a building to reduce magic dust decay but at the same time reduce gold production or somethin.

Or in other words Magic Cave , +75md an hour, -15gold an hour.

MIX UP somethin like that ;D

They definately need something so that they shouldn't worry about decay too much. The race should also be accessible to anyone who doesn't log in every 2 hours.

Possible suggestions :
- a racial spell similar like Elves
- a bonus added to some building (everyting except towers)

Furthermore, the -20% gold production hits the race hard. Exploring is not a really viable option with it. While I don't say that all races should be perfect for exploring, lots of casual players are not into attacking so races which do badly for explorers will tend to draw few people to it.

Last comment : Pixies, ain't that little fragile things that have to worry about not being stamped on by anything the size of a human or bigger ? So I have problems imagining a pixie equivaling a Mountain Troll in terms of stats.

no explorer should ever be able to win, and no race should ever be balanced for exploring to be a viable option. exploring is something that you nerf races against.

I don't say that explorers should be able to win the round, but I don't see any reason to cripple all exploring-options. Some races are better suitable for exploring than others (Flameweavers and Humans probably the best suited, Dwarves and Terranoids the least suited). But with crippling exploring abilities, you also cripple a lot of a race's popularity. Because a lot of people DO explore in Elveron, especially the new people.

Back to topic :

Are pixies really that tough to constitute for 50% casualty-rate ?

the 50% casualty rate helps offset their expensive cost even though they have the negative population and gold production. Though i wouldn't be one to comment on the the actual toughness of the race from a creative standpoint.
