I was simming Sylvan today when I encountered this problem. It's about the training of Oak Dryads.

If you want to explore 56 acres at hr0, you will spend all your gold (after building etc). Then starting from hr1 and so on, I trained Oak Dryads with leftover gold after building (1-3 Oak Dryads/hr). Is this the right way to do it?

On the one side I think it is slow, cuz your lumber/hr stays low until you have those Dryads trained (3/hr early, 6-7/hr later)
So it takes a long time to get all the barren built.

On the other hand, if you don't explore hr0, you have gold for training 100ish Dryads. But you wont have the barren land to 'house' 100 Dryads, cuz you want those GMs and Homes coming in asap rather than leaving them barren.

I think that maybe massing some Dryads hr0, like 40 or so (40 barren is doable to keep while still using all the rersources for building during) and exploring with the leftover gold might be the best option. Then at hr 1-12 you can still explore every hr to get the amount of acres you want to.

Whats best?

I did a little sim and I found that I could build all the appropriate buildings (towers, goldmines, home) and then I could train 80 oak dryads. Also exploring land hr0 is not needed because it just lowers your income as the incoming land will be of no use to population growth because you are approximately 20 hours away from maxing your population. I tried exploring land (grassland) 9 hours before my population was going to max. Not sure if this is right because i've never explored oop before but it looked pretty decent

Mix and match.

Remember you also got a free 36 land 24 hours after the round started. Just use the training and exploring times (12 hours of forest and a bit of grassland 3 hours later?) and have them done at the same hour.

lol YF I dont understand what you mean :P

Another question: whats a good amount of Dryads? From my oop I found 70 of them is too low. My gold income was high enough for full elite after OOP, but my lumber was not enough to train 0/10 all the time. I am thinking at 100 Dryads now, any good?

And late round, what amount of Barren% does a Sylvan attacker have? 30% or so?

Try 75 dryads at hr 0. Then 20-25 more that will come in for your 3rd land bonus after oop oc.

in my opinion, use the barren bonus to match the number of oak driads by rezoning it to the forest barren.

Are you supposed to be coming out kickin' on sylvan OOP? I simmed it, and I didnt have much to it.

I had not enough gold but too much lumber with like 60 dryads.
Also, do sylvan build GM in protection?

If you come out kickin' from oop with sylvan, you're gonna get kicked pretty hard due to the low-ass turtle. Ask pop, he knows.

Sylvan is just non-appealing to me. I think I shall not do them.
