this would be super helpful in communicating with randomers or the new players that don't check realm council or give out msn's

it would increase the knowledge of player base i think and help war votes in less active realms

OR include this in the new changes and then implement the changes. IMO this would improve gameplay a ton and help attract and keep a lot of new players.

I'm all for implementing a realm chat, but a game-wide chat might be disastrous due to the inability to really survey or prevent the posting of ingame ops and news events. To prevent it, you'd have to force a rule; if post an op, you'll get deleted and banned for the next x rounds. And it should flash in big red letters on top of the chat box. And it still might not work.

Hey, Im out and someone shares op to Elveron in the chat thing, then gets deleted and banned! I am totally cool with that. Eventually, all the "cheaters" will be deleted and banned.

Good idea, but I fear it'd be too hard to properly monitor? I guess maybe it could be coded to automatically recognize an op, but i think there are just too many ways to get around that. I do really like the idea of a realm chat. Though, like ck mentioned the game-wide one would be disastrous.

My idea was meant for only in realm instant messaging because if you could talk to anyone it would be too easy to cheat. SO just in realm IM

From my understanding (which isn't extensive), a "Chat Box" is a huge drain on Bandwidth and storage space for a website. I cant even imagine having 100 of them all storing...

Make it a feature that is only available if you donate. I.E. the donation package includes realmbook, search, and chat. Increase donation price to 7 bucks or something. That way the people who want chat are able to have it, and because they are the ones who want it to help the n00bs anyways. I realize it would be helpful to have it in every realm but maybe it is not realistic for the site itself. I could be totally wrong though.
