Playing for Experience (Xp)

What effects Xp gains?
• The higher percent of Academies, the better amount of Xp you will gain per attack. Aim for 40%.
• The higher your land size, the better amount of Xp you will gain per attack.
• Another factor is landsize. You should be hitting as close to 100% your landsize as you are able to. Any varaiation on this will decrease your gains.
• Xp is gained exponentially. For example…
o Kingdom A has 1000 land and 2000 Xp
o Kingdom B has 1000 land and 3000 Xp
o Kingdom A and Kingdom B have the same perecnt of Academies
 If each kingdom were to attack at 100% of their landsize, Kingdom A would gain more Xp. So try to increase your land size as your Xp grows.

Managing your land.
• The nature of Xp is to attack often. So in turn you will be attacked often. Expect to be hit 2 or 3 times a day.
• Do not always build on all your barren land. Aim for keeping 10% of your total land barren.
• Distribute that land over where your Academies and Frost Temples are located. 55% over the Academy land type, 35% over the Frost Temple land type and the rest scattered where your other buildings reside.

Importance of Frost Temples.
• Frost Temple - Reduces casualties by Frost Temple% * 2.5 to max 50%, Reduces attackingtime, and incoming land, by Frost Temple% * .15 to max 6 hours. (Or -1 hour return time for every 6.67% of Frost Temples) Attacking time can never be less than 6 hours. Decreases hero mortaility by Frost Temple% * 4.0 (no max).
• You will attack often and get attacked often, so low casualties will help you maintain you offense and defense.
• Your main offense will come from your combined Heroes strengths. So keeping their mortality rate at 0% is kep. 21% Frost Temples will usually make any Hero invincible.
• Decide how often you would like to attack, use the Frost Temples to find that desired amount. Aim to attack about 3 times a day, so about 34% Frost Temples will work.

Basic Build Structure.
• 40% Academies
• 34% Frost Temples
• 8-10% Farms
• 5-7% Towers
• 25-30 Sawmills will be plenty enough for the round
• 1 Guild Quarter

Note that many races may require resources other than gold, so add those into that mix as will if need. But try to keep your race options to ones that rely soly on gold.

Thank you to Tzar's and Izzy's Guide also in the Strategy Forum. I think this covers the very basics of playing for Xp. There is nothing about it in the Guide. I believe Xp is REALLY fun, and very unique in Elveron, but I would bet many new players have no idea on how to play to maximize Xp without reading the forums.

Also, it looks better on my word document :/

Please critique it. I would like to work on this until it is VERY simple to understand and can be followed so anyone can do well in Xp.

A guide to quaffail's spelling and grammar:

kep = key
if need = if needed
soly = solely
unique in = unique to

yeah those are the kep errors that you should change soly if need. although this style of incorrectness is very unique in quaffail.

q: auto take land bonus off, yes?
I write it as now you get decrease in XP as someone attacks you.

q2:
are sylvans good race for XP? i think they can be awesome. 1) less building losses due to way of producing lumber and frost temples being actually on forest. 2) a race that can XP and still have nice improvements (also from wood).
drawback: rezone price highier as 120gold per worker.

what are the most worthy heroes for an XP player? I mean, if i wanted to discard the ones that i don't need, what would be your choice of choice? oly +2/+1 offence heroes? Or perhaps warriors? Or maby others?

I think i would go for +1.5 improvement (alchemist) and 2 +1.5 lumber production... when playing sylvans, hoping to have lots of wood.

Sylvans? For XP? o.O There are, umm, better choice for XP. Try playing XP with Shinobi or Vamp first. At least until you pick it up, then try branching out into different approaches, such as Sylvans. Trying with Sylvs straight up would be a nightmare.

Sylvan isnt the worst choice. The main problem you will have with them is the lack of turtle. Vamp and Shinobi are better choices imo, but Sylvan will work :)

Auto Take Land Bonus = ON!!!!!!!!!! More land = more economy and more barren land to help buffer your FT and Academies.

This XP changing was terrible.
We have 3 rankings, and the less honorable is the XP rank (no heroes with our name) then i think it's not an equilibrium.
But now the losers of the NW rank will try the XP rank.
Next round Im planing staying home for more time, like the middle of the round, growing my chicken, but it will be very boring...
In the future we all will be famers, LOL.

as you attack with high academy % your heroes gain xp fairly quickly. if you are running frost temples then they also do not die. That hero xp counts as their op and soon you have enough op just from those heroes to make hits. it takes a little bit to build that kind of op on your heroes, but it is worth it late game.
