I gotta be honest. I looked at those stats - and they are fucked. I am curious how many games were played to get them and/or who was playing (i.e. closed community or not) and/or who compiled the data (i.e. many ppl or one dood).

However. I think that the game you are suggesting looks ok balancing-wise.

It's not empirical data. I think in part 2 of the that article, they give the formula. Based on pure random lynching, it can be calculated out. Of course, there will always be biased in our picks no matter how much I argue for dice rolls and coin flips. *grumbles*

Indeed, I was going to split the win with Mafia when I was Fool and the other left. I've had to see it happen to me before, why cant anyone else put up with it? The players on that site are mostly pussies or idiots (I haven't played with everyone, granted, but those I have played with have been a bad representation in any case)

Day 1: Majority can be reached by cits. 2 in 3 chance of killing Citizen. If fail citz lose
Chance of Mafia Win: 66.66%

5 person game
Night 1: Mafia kills 1 cit (3 cits remaining)
Day 1: 3 in 4 chance of lynching Citizen. If fail Citz lose
Chance of Mafia Win: 75%

That's assuming Citizens will lynch, obviously best option is to no lynch and bring odds up to a 4 person game.

6 person game
Night 1: Mafia kills 1 cit (4 cits remaining)
Day 1: 4 in 5 chance of lynching Citizen. If lynch fails, cits have another chance. (3 cits remain)
Night 2: Mafia kills 1 cit (2 cits remaining)
Day 2: 2 in 3 chance of lynching Citizen. If fail Citz lose
Chance of Mafia Win: (4/5)*(2/3) = 53.33%

7 person game
Night 1: Mafia kills 1 cit (5 cits remaing)
Day 1: 5 in 6 chance of lynching Citizen. If lynch fails, cits have another chacne (4 cits remain)
Night 2: Mafia kills 1 Cit (3 cits remain)
Day 2: 3 in 4 chance of lynching Citizen. Citz lose if they fail lynch.
Chance of mafia win: (5/6)*(3/4) = 62.5%

Obviously this is BS, because cits would no lynch first day to improve odds. From now on I'll skip odd numbers.

8 person game
Night 1: Mafia kills 1 cit ( 6 Cits remain)
Day 1: 6 in 7 chance of lynching mafia. ( 5 cit remain)
Night 2: Mafia kills 1 cit ( 4 cit remain)
Day 2: 4 in 5 chance of lynching mafia (3 cit remain)
Night 3: Mafia kills 1 cit ( 2 cit remain)
Day 3: 2 in 3 chance of lynching mafia, cits lose if fail
Chance of mafia winning: (6/7)*(4/5)*(2/3) = 45.71%

As you can see it's a simple pattern, with a 2-player increase, just multiply by another fraction. These numbers are identical to what they posted (although Inversed). Since we allow the players to no lynch, we can ignore all the odd numbed games. For now, I'll assume they calculated 2 mafia correctly.

Based on this new understanding, I'll revise my earlier statement:
(6-7) 5-6 citizen, mafia (Cit win: 46%)
(8-9) 7-8 citizen, mafia (cit win: 54%)
(22-23) 20-21 citizen, 2 mafia (cit win: 50.71%)

When you add in the human factor, these numbers become way off.

I had a set-up...

2 lynchers, 1 killer, 2 maf, 1 doc, 1 fool, 1 cop, 2bps, 1 miller. (Miller and Fool optional)

Its certainly interesting, might need some tweaking though.

Played many games similar to this last night, this one seemed to work out the best.

1 Cit, 1 Doc, 1 Cop, 1 Miller, 1 BP, 2 Bombs, 1 Mason, 1 Framer, 1 Hooker, 1 Killer.

Funniest thing earlier, with this set-up I was annoyed at being Cit, so I claimed BP, got counter-claimed, made up a report and claimed Cop, got lynched, and it turned out my claim was right. Was the funniest thing ever (I get bored of being Cit in unranked)
