There are some players who build guidquarters OOP (not just the 1) to get more workers/better income at OOP.

Now my question is: When to build them? How much? What to do with them after OOP?

If you want to do a GQ push with your OOP land, it could be profitable to also have some build for OOP.

I run GQ for OOP, and I am proud.

They are pretty good for troll, and they worked well for my zorb last round.

I basically want to get about, say, 2k workers & 40 Mages. That is about 350k gc. Using GQ will halve the price of that, saving you 175kgc. Now, depending on when you build the GQ or the GM depends on how well this works for you. 20% GQ = 72GM. 72*60*(40 hours) is the equivalent. Since i build GQ on my land bonuses, GQ wins for me.

I think at about 300k invested into worker/mage/spy then GQ come out in front, not including the fantastic advantage of extra workers/hour.

I had a very impressive oop with trolls due to GQ's. IMO a worker offense is the best way to go, they make you money while away and are so insanely cheap. After they return and you get your first wave built, you can then use the massive amount of workers to easily fill your pits.

Other races ... well if you use workers for specs, plan to run a lot of specs for initial land grabs oop, and plan pump workers again after land gets in, GQ's > most other buildings. Do the math and figure out if GQ's will beat GM's. You'd be surprised in a lot of cases :)

GQ and zorb dont go that well together though.... I know that from experience.
