i propose we introduce new entities called FORTS.
a king would have the option to start the building of a FORT.
there could be like more models.
for the completion of a fort some resources would be needed. like a lot of lumber if we don't want to introduce stone as a new resource not to complicate game too much.
there should be a new link on left menu called Realm Projects. every member of a realm could open it and see building fort project and the resources needed for it. a fort could also need some land. we could keep thins simple saying small fort needs 20 acres, medium 40 and big 80. or there could be mountain forts, swamp forts and so on so a specific type of land would be needed.
These forts would have defenses, garnisons, and houses. these would have to be built to help protect the fort. of course it will have very nice defense bonuses, thats the idea of a fort. and fort houses would be like 100 ppl and could even take just half of an acre. this population would generate gold every hour and that gold would automatically be distributed to kingdom members. king would have the option to chose how many percents everyonw gets. population and gold generated by taxes would be influenced by realm improvements.
of course other realms should be able to attack and take over forts. it has to be decided if this would be an option for a kingdom or there would be a project called siege army to which every kingdom in the realm can donate troops, heroes or resources for siege weapons. and king would have the option to launch a siege.
if enough ppl like the idea we can work on improving it and add to details.

The idea is good, to increase stuff that a realm can do together. But there is always 1 big pitfall in cooperative things like this one: abusing. One realm can agree that their best/biggest kingdom doesn't invest anything in the fort and get all the income (and other bonuses) produced by the fort. This happens and is always hard to balance.

king could chose how to split the gold bonus. and he can do it in an unfair way. and members could vote another king if he does that. until a king splits the bonuses in a way to make enough ppl happy to stay king. it would also add to real politics. one realm could help the weak ones another chose different.

The problem still remains, Tutu. A realm can agree on giving all the bonuses to their strongest kingdom. Agreeing that the bonuses are split unfairly. They just want to be the whores/slaves that kingdom. How do we deal with that?

That kingdom will become very strong, while other realms, the ones that split the resources/bonuses in a fair way, can either just watch him run away or do the same. Of course, that can also be called a type of teamwork, but I don't think it is the way we want to go to.

hey.first of all,great idea.Tutu.that would bring a whole new aspect to the realm concept,and i think i know how to solve the problem B noted:

a fort must be allowed to maintain a defensive army donated by the realm members.there must also be put a limit in the total defense a fort can hold(which is realistic too).
the maximum percentage of the forts's defense a single kingdom can cover,must be equal to the percentage of the bonuses it receives.

that way,when a kingdom abuses the fort bonuses,sooner or later other strong realms will gather armies to invade the fort.
the benefiting kingdoms can either leave the fort defense to the whore kingdoms(which cannot fully cover the fort's defensive needs),or send a generous amount of its troops in the fort's defense(that way however,the kingdom will be left vulnerable to attacks).

so,this is the solution i propose:make it difficult by using the siege concept Tutu mentioned.
