A realm chat, where all the realm members can chat/comment strategies/preapare for wars/comment the round.

It would make things easier to some packs, also think aout the nwe players!!! it will make their rounds much more fun if they can talk to their fellow nOObs!!

How is the in-realm chat different than the realm council? In the realm page you can see who is online (by the @) and in the RC you can talk.

It's different because the RC is like a forum, really, not an instant messenger system. You can't really chat in the rc, or why do people use msn?

The Realm Council sucks compared to the potential of a Realm Chat.

If someone is online, cares about the game and wants to have a discussion with his realm mates, he WILL read RC. The only extra benefit from a chat system is that you can see someone online at that given moment.

For the top realms, it doesn't change a thing.

For realms with less experienced players, it doesn't matter much, as those will not be online too much anyway and most probably not online at the same time.

I DO think it's a good idea if we can get it implemented easily, but I don't see the big benefits.

Again: People use msn to converse for a reason. You must agree it's a hazzle to have an actual conversation through the RC?

An ingame chat would make it a thousand million % easier to chat with your realm, and for new players make "friends".

For the top realms, they could chat without needing to download/log on msn, and seeing as I think msn sucks and I'd never use it if it wasn't for playing this game, I would definitely think of it as a big befefit.

It lowers some thresholds.

For me it is annoying to play with people who do not have use IM services, constantly clicking on Realm Council.

Agreed with both Rain and Kalle, it is easier/lowers threasholds, BUT let's say I am in a 30 men realm with players that log-in 1-2 times a day. What do I do with the chat system when they are NOT on (which is imo very likely to happen)? I talk, noone talks back. They will read it later? Then you have a slow MSN convo ('sending offline messages'). Still better than clicking the RC link probably, but not that much better.

Ah well, let's implement this, +1.

I do like the idea of a realm chat.

Realm Chat and Global chat would help the game a lot.

I use msn through a website called meebo.com and edit friends at hotmail.com, but some players don't want to use msn messenger in any form.
