Searching game talk and questions forums is a good way to find answers to questions and other awesome information.
But with 80,000 posts on 1 forum, it is incredibly hard to find useful information as you look through junk and spam messages constantly.
Why not remove absolutely useless threads?
You can check all information inside the thread before deleting it to make sure there is no useful information inside it.
99% of the older looking for pack threads are useless now.
99% of the older hey how you doing type threads are useless.
Some of the information provided in searches is inaccurate due to changes or people not really knowing right answer, which can confuse new players. Other information is repeated multiple times, and if it's old and nobodies looking at it lately, then it serves no purpose except to clutter searches for answers.
I would be happy to search for older junk and copied information and provide links. That will make administrators job easier and he can still have final say on what is junk or not.

Good idea, although it is a lot of work.
If you post me links of whole threads that can be deleted i will try to do my best about it.

Would you like links in a personal message or posted directly here?
I will start looking for useless links and save them to a notepad file.
Also I will only look at links that haven't been posted in for at least 3 months.
I will only be looking in game talk and questions, since that is only place people search for game information, assuming they are informed on how to search correctly for game questions. My planned website will teach them to do this.
I just started making an advanced guide to elveron website which is why I have been so mad at the search feature, cause it literally takes an hours sometimes to find 1 piece of information. That website will mention using search feature and looking at game talk and questions board before asking questions.

I wouldn't mind seeing the pack threads go away (or maybe moved to a sub forum).
I would like to keep the "Hey, how are you?" threads for nostalgia.

I suggested about 30 threads to be removed and only the old find pack threads were removed. After review most of them were useful if moved to another forum, but at least 2 of them would not be missed if deleted permanently. I don't think threads like these I suggested to delete are worth keeping. - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15132 There's no useful information here. - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15086 This is basically a find a pack thread, but during the draft round. I don't think threads that have questions answered in the guide should be kept. Most people read the guide before searching game talk and questions since it is much easier to find. And if they missed the info in the guide they can always ask that question and then it can later be removed again. I have some questions for Dante. 1. What else if anything would you consider deleting other than find a pack threads? 2. Can you move threads not related to game talk and questions to the general talk or suggestions or strategy or bugs or race suggestions or forum games messageboard so people searching for game information can find it easier when they only search under game talk and questions? 3. Can you create a frequently asked questions thread that stays above other threads and move questions and answers that have been asked and answered more than once there and then remove the threads they came from assuming theres no other useful information inside those threads? If you can't make a FAQ threads for questions I will be adding most of those questions or the answer to them in my advanced guide website I am building.

Yeah, i agree those two threads were useless. Deleted then now.
1. Not all that much tbh, although i am open to suggestions.
2. Yes. I did move some (one or two?) of the threads you suggested for deletion to general talk already. Typically i think the "Hey guys, long time, how are you?" threads should go to general talk.
3. Sure, that can be done. If you start a FAQ thread i can sticky it and then we just need to update it.

I like the idea of a Subforum for finding packs, most likely under Game-Talk. People would immediately know where to look/post. A huge part of people staying in this game is because of the relationship they form. So anything to help promote those relationships is a great idea, in my opinion.

i reopen this topic since we have just announced a new moderator and i think cleaning the forums should be a top priority.
when you are new to a game and you have questions or want to become familiar with the game community, there is nothing more disheartening than to see a forum/messageboard that is out of control with repetition, off-topic threads, off-topic posts, and requests for pack mates from 2009.
its like going to hire an accountant and you see papers all over the floor and chairs, etc. you wonder how he will be able to manage your money when he can't even manage his own office.
this post is meant to be constructive, not critical. i hope its taken seriously, though.

Great to see it implemented already Will the current pack-threads be moved here ? It might also be an idea to have a sticky thread in Game Talk directing people to the new subforum (including explanation) for the time being.
