a 5-7 day hero that increases, by one or two, the turns you get while main hero is home.

i think it would be a very interesting hero(s)

There's a reason Acerac gives +food as a bonus.

It's not because I thought it would be an awesome ability for a hero to have.

It's because he is American, he must eat.

150% more than usual. That is correct.

Bah, that hero is completely unbalanced (in very limited circumstances). We had to move that hero TWICE to not greatly unbalance the game. . .

I am tempted to ask zip to recode your damn hero!

New Acerac Bonus:
    "+150% to investments with food"

150% i a huge bonus, I think many count the hero as food_production * 1.5 when it should be * 2.5.

Stanley, winning players have the opportunity to make new heroes. Extra turns per hour is certainly a cool ability.

If we did that it wouldn't be feasible to have people kill themselves by starvation after the hero leaves service. I am strongly opposed to this idea.

It should be +200%, at +150% diamonds are still better for investing than food. The goal was to make food an alternate form of investing that temporarily exceeded diamond mines, but only if the user was super active. It failed in that goal.

+50% is garbage. I'd rather it was +1% food than +50%.

The problem with a food bonus is it overpowers races with a food unit cost.

I thought the goal of your hero was to make farms nearly as valuable for investing. I now see that I was mistaken, and I must redo the bonus so it meets your 'evil' criteria (but without being overpowered).

Acerac: "-66.6% food consumption"

This nerfs the investment portion, but it retains the "Kill the player when I leave service" feature.

edit: Hmm, this suggestion was only partly evil. I need to make it full evil

Acerac: "-100% food consumption"

It was a dual purpose hero. It was meant to reward super active people who could invest hourly with uberfarms that were better than diamond mines and to punish people who weren't paying attention by having them starve off large parts of their population.

You say this is evil. I say it is a hero that rewards strategy and punishes mindlessness. Very few heroes have a downside, I like being the exception to the rule.

As far as being too good for races that have units that need food... well... I've never liked any good races that require food as a major source of unit prices.

*edit*

Come to think of it, what kind of races existed where moving Acerac was a necessity? I guess units that cost nothing but food like animators would be real good (worst designed race that has ever stayed in the game) but other than that I'd be amazed if Acerac provided even nearly the bonus than gold heroes or cruncher thai.

People hit over 60% DMs often early to mid game. Cruncher increases production by 25%, giving whoever has him essentially 115% the total building production of anyone else in the game. Acerac allows players to run maybe 6% less farms than they would otherwise, but this bonus needs to be planned out and forces r/r. Sure it's a bonus that exists all round instead of at a select time when Thai is good, but it's obvious that he's in no way ridiculous... unless the race design is ridiculous and has elites that require no resource besides food or something. I'd love to see figures that prove me wrong here.

Well there was halfling with their already OP'd brewers (a mage unit that makes 10 food per tick), though as I pointed out during the debate after Acerac was moved midround, Iffy would still surpass Acerac in usefulness for most of heavy imping races.

I did end up with 300k+ food production that round though, but that was after I had already capped on imps and was just using the brewers for the mage power. Would've been nice to grab Acerac anyway for some ridiculous numbers. :P

Big numbers are scary, even if the big numbers are mostly useless.

I'd guess that's the majority of what happened.
