in truth u lose only 1.8 turtling dp, then it really doesnt matter because a well played elf will be surely overdefended with all his troops home.
another note: WRs are much used for atcks too, specially near the end of the round.

Depends on what kind of attacking your doing...some people *cough cough* EXP WHORES *cough* use them mostly for defense, even late round. They may send some of them just because of the quicker return time to get better turtle.
But, yes, you are right, later round they are very useful fast, powerful, lower cas...its a nice unit. But, as I pointed out in my last post, then you have the problem of using them for offense, which you lost 1.6 points of OP per unit (assuming you train none of them) and then you have to cover 1 DP more per unit for your attacking. Which means you have to train more DP...again...I already stated that earlier.

i dont think they are unbalanced
u see, long round had lots of elves
on a short round u'll see lots of dwarves maybe
are dwarves unbalanced?
each race has its "shiny time" in a round i guess
and elf is long rounds
thats why lots of elves lol
