We are usually told to train workers at tick 48(or when pop becomes max) in protection. I want to ask why train at tick 48 instead of training early?

Say if a person has 5k peasants at tick 24 and his rate of increase of peasants is 300 per hour with a max reachable peasants(not pop) of 11k. Now it will take him ~20 hours to reach max pop. That means he will train ~2k workers at tick 44.-- Now if he trains at tick 32 instead, he will train ~1.3k workers and will have ~9.7k(max) peasants at tick 44 and will be able to train another ~1.7k workers which after 12 ticks will make a total of 3k workers instead of the former 2k workers.

This clearly shows that training early is better...... Or am i missing something?? Please guide me if i am wrong.

USually, worker train is around hr24 to hr30, depends on how much you are from max pop. Hr48 is for training military troops.

The idea for waiting until max pop is so you can train the max amount of workers per hour. but i don't know if it's the best route. i haven't experimented with the idea.

Actually it has less to do with training max workers and more with having those peasants longer. The more peasants you have the faster your population will grow. When you train workers those peasants who are in training don't count toward peasants which means the amount of peasant growth goes down. The idea of training when you are maxed pop then has to do with an aspect of maximixing efficiency in order to gain the most gold.

Who's telling you to train workers that late? I will typically train workers around tick 30, give or take a few ticks. You don't generally want to wait much longer than that.

I knew there was more to it, but I forgot what it was.

Train 1.5% of your peasants into workers every hour once your population is 80% maxxed. Then max train once you are maxxed.

Thanks for that too. Else i would have started training hourly near tick 40 instead of 30 :D.
