DWARF
Good

The dwarves are one of the oldest humanoid races of Elveron. In an era long gone they were the rulers of the Midrealm; ruling with an iron hand from their mighty mountain fortresses.
But even this mighty empire was not destined to last forever. On the height of their powers a large fraction of dwarves believed the dwarven race to be divine, superior to all other races. This all lead to what the dwarves now call the Sundering. A large part of dwarves traveled to the underground deeming the surface dwellers unworthy of their greatness. In time they became a different race known as the dark dwarves.
But still the mountain dwarves remained a powerful race ruling the Midrealm for many a year. This all came to pass when the dwarves allied with the Dark Dwarves. The mountain dwarves lost battle after battle, their mountain fortresses being destroyed one by one until the mighty empire was no more.

GOBLIN
Evil

Goblins are a race of diminutive humanoids which have been devastated by war. Once one of the most feared hordes in the lands, they are now overlooked in the battles waged across Elveron. Due to their lack of military strength and to waning numbers, this race of little people had to turn to other means to fend for them. Over the years while other races battle each other for supremacy, the Goblins laboured in the dark corners of tundra and mountains, developing dangerous technology to overcome their weaknesses. Now armed with new weapons, the Goblins seek once more to rise into their rightful spot as one of the most prominent races of Elveron.

Question and Answer

Q: Why did you decide to replace Sylvan for Dwarf?
A: Dwarf had positive support from the community and DevTeam as a whole. They have a very aggressive play style that gains lots of love and hate. Plus, we wanted to see more grumpy small-people in Elveron. Tollspry are rather small, but not nearly grumpy enough.

Q: Why did you decide to replace DD for Goblin.
A: Goblin also had positive support in returning. They provide a very unique play style that is not currently in the game. It also plays along with keeping the ratio of small-angry people in the game relevant.

Just for clarification:

Booting sylvan because they're so unpopular, and they're also a fast race. So they're being replaced by a (hopefully) more popular fast race.

Booting DD because we needed to preserve balance within the alignment. Having vamp, ele, gobbo and DD on evil would've made the whole alignment too centered on fast play.

I was thinking +1 defense to daywalker. And +1.5 defense to the battle Mage.

+1 defense for daywalker will, I believe, erase most of the raison d'etre of the dhampires. Right now, they have more defense than the daywalkers during the day, so there are some day/night strategies in which one would chose a dhampire over a daywalker for defense. Give daywalkers 6 defense as well, and you'll never get dhampires for defensive purposes (while dhampires for offensive purposes aren't used much either).
Should you change daywalker defense, then at least dhampire has to be changed too. Perhaps make it 2/7 during day and 6/3 during night?

(I'm not experienced enough with humans to say anything about BM defense)

I still hope you are trolling. about Vamps at least. I would like to see more BM use, but I am not sure that they need a boost in order to be useful.

Are there any changes people feel are necessary for the upcoming round?

Perhaps I should also add: Are there any changes people want for the upcoming round, that are within the means of balance?
