Well, i was exploring so didnt do much strength, and considering strength gives you an advantage that has nothing to do with questing (attack power) it makes sense that putting less priority on strength will give you better quests. Otherwise strength would be incredibly overpowered on your ruler hero.

Strength helps with quests... it allows you to do 1 more dmg per hit (I think, or it modifies something that improves dmg per hit) and equip certain items. Killing monsters in less rounds means you receive less dmg, which also means you get more exp (exp is also based on either % of max hp left, or amount of hp left).

Agility can't reduce the damage received below 1 point, so it's not at all useful until lvl 2.

Int is also weird. When simming high int on lvl 1, my perfect strikes did less dmg than my normal strikes.

Yeah, of course strength help with quests - just not as much as other attributes. :)

I have noticed that perfect strikes make less damage than normal too on lvl1, a bit strange ofc.. :D

on the original point about quest items
it took me to halfway into week 2 to get a pair of gloves. They were half my level.

item wise

ive had loads of helmets (10+), a fair few chest pieces often duplicate, iron chainmail boots*2 + sandals*2
3 weapons and 2 sets of gloves

for the entire round

as i said my hero could find 7 helmets in a week but no gloves whotsoever
weapons were either crap or lvl 10+

stuck with a black cat till lvl 10

ideally i would lke more gloves in the pool and some lvl 5-8 weapons
and decrease drop rate of helmets

theres my 2 cents anyway :D
