Yeah... You could assess the late round strength of an Elf right now. Or at least determine which (few) have the best potential.

Deivies, if you look around right now, the races you are describing currently arent even the strongest in the game!

When evaluating a kingdom, look at the military composition, improvements, and buildings. Youll get a sense of how that kingdom is playing. It LARGELY depends on the race/situation in the game. At this point in the game though, if the kingdom has spec units, he isnt preparing for the long haul of the round. Kingdoms should have at least 2mil in most of their KIMPs right now if they would like to make use of Alchemies soon (RIMPs also play a big part, but that is more of a realm strategy). A kingdom looking to be strong in the end will have at least 700 or more DMs right now, if they dont, their improvements will be weak in the end. Also, they should have an efficient build, aka not overproducing food/magic dust/lumber etc. Building composition and efficiency is usually the best way to spot a strong/smart kingdom.

But like others said also, each race is unique and can be played several ways. Expect at least one Elf to be strong the last 5 days. This round has already seen some strong Humans, Elementals, Terranoids, Elves, Amazons, Trolls, and others! Fun and balanced round from my eyes.

Specs doesnt mean 'bad late round' per say. <5k can be viable in special situations.
