Hmm, nice answer but not my one.
I like it so much that I will give it to you
I was thinking of a geostationary orbited satellite.

uh... geostationary satellites move at slow speeds, id say thought is a BETTER answer than geostationary satellites.

actually, geostionary satellites move bloody fast.
lets do the basic calcs:
assume they are 1000km up (probably much more)
that means the circle is 6300km in circumference (approx)
this means that in order to travel this distance in 24 hours, it must travel at abou 220km per hour. and the radius is likely to be even bigger.

The twist is in the wording, the notion of staying still being a reference to it's relative position above a map of the earth.

if you are saying they are fast because of when they are being launched, then your riddle doesnt work because you said what you were talking about never moves. if you are talking about the satellite after it has been launched, it moves slowly relative to your audience.

I think he was referring to how it stays in one spot over the earth, and is thus stationary, but because it is orbiting the earth it is still moving.

bah... i thought we accepted the heliocentric theory of galileo. the answer to that riddle may as well have been a rock.

1) a cucumber weighs 500 g and 90% of the weight is water. after it laid in the sun for a while it contains only 80% water - how heavy is it now?
2) in a tv show there are 3 doors A,B,C, behind one there's a price, behind the other 2 there's nothing. the candidate choses door A, the moderator opens door B and there's nothing behind it - which door should the candidate chose?
no answers without explanations plz.
