Okay, I'm going to try and start a roleplaying thread. It's going to be based on a Roleplaying book I have, but don't worry about that. Instead of playing exactly by the book we will be abit more open ended about it. In this roleplaying game, you will roleplay a child between the ages of 9-12 who find themselves in a twisted Fairy Tale world. Use this thread to make your characters and to ask questions. You might want to think of the following archtypes when making up your characters: Bully, Dreamer, Jock, Nerd, Normal Kid, Outcast, Popular Kid. Please explain your character in detail. I might ask you to supply more details or specific question based on what you originally post. Please copy and edit your previous entry in a new post. I find it annoying to jump back and forth in a thread and would rather just deal with the latest entry.

Ideally we will be able to get a group of about 4 or 5 players. Now since I work full time, I was thinking if we where all able to log in about the same time everynight then it would work better. I was thinking perhaps 8:30-10pm pacific standard time on a nightly basis (except for Fridays). If all of us are online at the same time it works alot better. I will try and find Gaw's Rules of Roleplaying, but until I find them just use common sense and have fun. There will be one rule I want to have everybody follow right away. No OOC talk in the actual role playing thread unless it is in a quote and that quote is labeled "OOC" and no quotes in that thread except for OOC comments. Ideally those OOC comments will be rare and for the most part should be posted here in this thread. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I wasn't aware that children can actually cast magic spells nor that such a spell would be in the spirit of fairy tales at all.

Honestly, if you arn't going to put in an honest effort then don't bother. If you have real questions ask them.

As long as you are active most days it will be fine. Just post how you will be inactive the following day if you know ahead of time. If enough people do so, then we will skip a day or two or if you guys want we could do this on specific nights of the week if it means full participation.

I want you to describe your character to me. Come up with a name, an age, a description of what he/she looks like, a brief history of the kid (like family and stuff), a description of his/her personality and hobbies and such. Tell me which archtype you want your character to be if that applies.

I've never done anything like this before so if you'll be patient with me I'll give it a go :P.

Name: Nicholas *random name generator FTL*
Age: 11
archtypes:Dreamer
Description: lets see he's about normal height for his age with short black hair and brown eyes

middle child of 3, he has a younger sister (8) and an older brother (15). As long as he gets good grades in school his parents could careless about him, as they prefer to spend most of their time worrying about the other two children.

He is very quite and withdrawn, would rather spend his days in his room away from people, but not because he doesn't like them but because he is shy and self conscious so he's always thinking people are thinking bad thoughts about him. As a result he doesn't have very many if any friends.

Hobbies include: Video games, story writing, and star gazing *one of his dreams is to be able to explore space someday*

Umm that sall I can think of.

Cool. I wanna play :-)

I'm at GMT+8, which is 16 hours ahead of PST. That mean 830-1030pm PST will be around like 12-2pm for me. I'll be at work, which also means I can be on and be able to post occasionally around that time.

LOL. And more interesting.

I'll try this...

Name: Julian
Age: 12
Archetype: Smart Bully

Description: A bit taller than the average, slightly chubby and round. Very short brown hair, brown eyes. Thick eyebrows, has an angry/bossy expression. Not the dumb kind of bully... comes from a 'upper middle class' family (somewhere between being moderate and rich). Is actually a big brother at home, with a younger sister in grade 1 (7 years old?). Dad not there for him, possibly divorced/dead.

Usually has two 'minions' hanging around with him. In general likes to make people feel bad, either 'intellectually' (like calling other kids names, or bossing them around, saying things that hurt other people's feelings etc) or physically. Behaves around grown-ups, so no average dumb adult knows he's actually a bully.

Would it be better to include a short 'psychoanalysis' thing?

Name: Kenji
Age: 10
Archetype: Jock

Description: A little short for his age. Dark hair, brown eyes. Skinny.

Comes from a middle class family with one older brother (13) and a younger brother (4). Although his parents are good to them he often feels out of place in the family. His older brother is the smart one and his younger brother gets attention because he is handicapped. He has a short-temper which often leads to fights with his father or older brother.

Although his short stature he is strong and determined not to lose EVER. Most of his classmates like him but he insists on being friends with the less popular kids as they share more interests.

Sorry if this is not at all what you are looking for SacT, but I think I did a pretty good job. I did not people out what Archetype he is (mainly because I dont know what you mean by that >.<) but I think its easy to tell where he stands.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His name is Jason Dealken, he is around 5’2 and a very physical stature, not large though, just very athletic. On the skinny side, he lives a very active lifestyle and must work for everything he gets.

His friends call him “Sticky Tricky” because of this crazy antics and how everything he touches seems to end up disappearing. Growing up in a foster his as an abused orphan, Jason never really had true siblings, but he was very respected by the other kids at the orphanage. He was the fastest and most cunning. As the typical story goes, Jason made his living by pick-pocketing and stealing food. More of the loner type, Jason still enjoys his friends company and needs their support to get over the guilt that hangs over him every day. Still young, at the age of 11, Jason does not know his biological parents. When potential parents visit him, he is very picky. He wants the best family, not necessarily rich, but “open.” His mind is not certain on which type of parent he wants, but he is certain that he will know once he sees them.

From looking at him and talking with him, Jason seems to be a very strong minded and determined individual. But inside, as you heard, he is uncertain about what he wants in life, or from it. He wants to know what is best for him, but also best for who is around him. Maybe he is so picky with parents because he does not want to leave his friends, or maybe because he is afraid outside the orphanage. Maybe he feels responsible as the “Leader” of his friends.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SacT, could you post yours? Unless you dont because you are "running" it :/ I am a complete n00b haha.
