Okay some of you know and some of you don't I have been working to gather up people to write for my publishing company. I haven't been very successful in gathering Authors due to the lack of Published material. Well That is soon to change. I have my first update on my DYK Publishing future.

We have released the first short story by Rick Field over at Smashwords. It is called A Week In The Life Of An Overlord. It is .99 cents. IF you want to check it out that would be cool.

www.DYKPub.com is our website. There is a link on the front page to where you can submit stories as well as a link to the story's page on smashwords if you are looking to buy a copy.

You should add that website to your profile.

The sad thing is I completely forgot that was an option on this site. It has now been corrected.

I'm a writer, so I have a lot I can submit. But is it purely fan-faction? Because I don't have anything like that.

Also, what've the sales been like for Overlord?

I think you need to improve your grammar of the website (only because you are a publishing company. If you sold socks it wouldn't matter).

  • Use commas. ex. "Due to technical issues, our book released a few days late, but... " You do not have to use a comma before 'but', but it would makes sense to use it in this instance.
  • The hyperlink should only contain the book title. ex "A Week in The Life of an Overlord by Rick Field" You could make them both hyperlinks with the author's name going to his profile. ex "A Week in The Life of an Overlord by Rick Field"
  • If you do not have a link to the book, use italics. ex. "A Week in the Life of An Overlord by Rick Field is now for sale at Smashwords"
  • Remove the double spaces between words (in random spots, but they stand out when you see them).
  • All websites should have hyperlinks. "www.Tenhawkpresents.com" to "www.Tenhawkpresents.com"

I'm probably not the best person to be giving grammar advice. . .

Yeah I will correct those. I tend to work on the site after i get off of work so I sometimes miss errors like that. I am usually tired but it is the only time i have to work on the site due to the house being quiet due to people being asleep or on their way to work. I should point out I work overnights.

No we won't have any fanfiction. It is just that the Founding authors are some of my favorite fanfiction Authors. We may at one point do a set of Fanfiction where our Authors will write in the Other Authors universe as a charity release but we need to build the author count before we can think further about that.

The Sales from Overlord are slow. we had five books sell in the first three days. That being said, the more I can advertise and the more Authors I get the more we are at the top of Smashwords new release page. I will be having another two shorts coming out in the next two months or so.

3 so far with finished rough drafts.

Rick Field

Rick has completed Several Short Stories as well as one novel length work.

Evan Currie

He has gave us a short story to put in a short story collection, but other than shorts probably won't contribute much due to him having a deal with Amazon.

Liam Gibbs

He is providing short stories at the moment, we will see what happens as it develops.

Vincent Thaster

That is me. I am working on a three novel series. Unfortunately I am really bad at short stories. And i won't be releasing any of my work until all three are done.

So we have three authors who have contributed material already. Not much but we have to start somewhere, right?

Okay, thanks for the info. I'll stop bombarding you with questions now.

I may submit something in the future to see how it fares.

Unfortunately, I just deleted all of my inbox/outbox..but keep a record of 'Realm Chat' cause I thought it would give interesting material to write stories from but just got plain lazy to not keep records of the 'Messages' ...questions and replies.

I think there is a wealth of information and stories in 'Elveron's' realm chat boxes, messages, etc....I mean, this is real life happening and lots of people like to read things that are not too far fetched, unless of course, that is what they are reading; you know, fantasy etc....hope my points are clear.

EDIT:
After playing in this round, draft round, and it isn't over yet, the ^ is an understatement! I have saved over 187 pages from the 'Chat Box' alone! I think someone should undertake all of the threads, mesh them up, and print a book.................and either split the profits amongst the players or give it to 'Elveron'. But now, oops, I am giving away a superb idea for gamers!! Hope someone reads this cause I probably will come back and EDIT my ideas.........not to mention; it is probably the property of 'Elveron' anyway, I think. Who knows...with international law(s). Kiss..........

P.S. Don't mind me; just rantings of a capitalist.
