| An Introduction: Getting Started |
Your first action will, most likely, be to build your land. I'll leave to you what
you want to build, but I strongly suggest that you do indeed build your land. The
buildings will give you benefits of their own, in addition to housing twice as many
people as an unbuilt acre does.
Your primary concern from there on, is to get some defense. If you have little or
no defense, other kingdoms will invade yours, and you will lose some of your precious
land. To get defense, you need to gather workers* and gold, and for some races other
resources (see military
for prices). Without defense, you cannot hope to do well, so make sure you train
some defensive units.
If you choose to be an attacker, you'll want to get some towers up and get some
wizards, so you can check other kingdoms for their defense. The
spells you need are called
lesser farsight, farsight and revelation. You will also want some spies for spying
on military, improvements and buildings. There is a handy in-game calculator for
your offense on the "attack" link.
If you choose to be an explorer, you might not need to do much information gathering
of other kingdoms, but keep in mind that the more spies and wizards you have, the
harder it will be for others to obtain the same information about your kingdom.
*) Worker is the generic term for the last military unit. Workers are named differently
for each race. They might be named Worker, Drone, Whisp or something else.
