Arkbeth was a rarity among his people - Dwarves are not particularly drawn to magic, and full-fledged mages are not often heard of at all. Arkbeth was a dwarven archmage who could rival the powers of even the most talented magicians among the other races, but he never once used his power for violence. While his fellow mages learned to hurl fireballs, he learned to shape the land to his will. While they learned to channel their power into speeding up time, Arkbeth learned to channel his power into creating efficient methods of restructuring the land of his people as efficiently as possible. The legacy he left behind was but a battered silver amulet. In this he endowed it with the power to increase the wearer's understanding of efficiency when restructuring a kingdom to suit the needs of the realm.
